Media Account Director/Strategic Planner (Maternity Leave – 5-6 months)

The Account Director will be responsible for all media plans and execution in both traditional and digital media. They are the lead person on a roster of various business sector accounts and their primary role will be to provide overall team leadership, manage and participate in the planning and execution of client media campaigns.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of group accounts acting as key strategic media lead and client contact (attend client meetings and making presentations as required)
  • Develop media plans for both traditional and digital media
  • Liaise and lead client, strategy and execution teams from an overall strategic standpoint
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all members of the team (client, other marcom partners and internal teams)
  • Anticipate opportunities/problems with client, suppliers, marcom partners and internal teams.
  • Build and manage a productive team atmosphere- to stimulate, inspire and encourage their best work
  • Strong mentoring and coaching (current and new staff)
  • Team career development succession planning
  • Account financial overview and management
  • Responsible for account revenue targets and appropriate resourcing
  • Develop revenue forecasts and achieve projected targets
  • Act as a resource and assist in new business pitches (as needed)
  • Manage scope of work and client expectations within agreed upon deliverables
  • Develop industry and category POVs for client’s and agency’s social media efforts
  • Work with management team to shape policy and culture of the agency

Desired Skills:

  • Positions requires a strong and deep understanding of Acquisition / Performance media
  • Strong traditional media and digital knowledge – including paid social media campaigns
  • Strong strategic skills; is innovative and creative with ideas
  • Has an understanding of advertising and marketing communications as well as a strong grasp/vision of the changing media landscape
  • Enhances processes to improve overall workplace performance
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Able to understand consumer insights and apply results to planning process

  • Has experience on industry councils or is willing to become involved

  • Education and Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in Media industry
  • University or related College Degree
  • Has worked for an entrepreneurial organization
  • Strong client management experience
